The Missouri Voluntary Life Insurance Commission (MoVLIC) was created by the State of Missouri's 87th General Assembly (1993). In addition to providing Voluntary Insurance Coverage to State Employees the legislation also allows all other Missouri Public Entities to join the plan. This includes, but is not limited to cities, counties and school districts.

McDaniel Hazley Group (MHG) of Kansas City was selected through a competitive bid process 2-decades ago (and won competitive bids every 4-years since) by the State to be the Third Party Administrator for the MoVLIC program. Over the past 2-decades MHG has enrolled & serviced thousands of State employees who have enrolled in the MoVLIC Program and taken their policies with them when they left State employment. | The State also competitively bid the Special Insurance Universal Life Coverage which includes life insurance, a cash fund and long-term care. The current plan is underwritten by Allstate Benefits.
The plan includes Guaranteed Coverages for Employees ($200,000), their Spouses ($100,000) & Dependents ($50,000). The Competitive Rates are based on the purchasing power of the State with it's 63,000 employees. |
